Marielvi Reyes is bilingual and was born and raised in New York City. She moved to sunny San Diego in February 2021. She received her dual Bachelor’s degrees from Seton Hall University in Special Education and Spanish. She received her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, specializing in bilingualism, from St. John’s University. Marielvi has worked in the education setting since 2014, working with d/Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and autistic people, and people with cerebral palsy. She particularly enjoys researching and implementing culturally-inclusive treatment approaches when working with students and their families. When evaluating, Marielvi also enjoys collaborating with other professionals (OTs, PTs, school psychologists, etc.) to provide a holistic approach to her students. Marielvi is also a proud believer in using neurodiverse-affirming approaches when working with students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc. When she gets to take her SLP hat off, Marielvi enjoys home decor, murder mystery documentaries, and going to the beach with her partner and two dogs.
