Daniela was raised in San Diego and has called it home for many years. She first became interested in the field of speech language pathology when her cousin received cochlear implants and later speech and language therapy to develop his overall communication in Spanish and English. Daniela graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences in 2017 and graduated from Portland State University, with an M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and a Spanish-English bilingual certification, in 2020. Since then, Daniela has experienced working in the private clinic and school settings. Daniela has worked with a variety of clients across birth – 19 years of age and has provided treatment in speech sound production, fluency, receptive and expressive language, and AAC. Daniela has experience with providing treatment in both English and Spanish. As a clinician, her objective is to provide effective, compassionate, culturally responsive, holistic, and family-centered care. She aims to do this by establishing rapport, creating an inclusive environment, encouraging team collaboration, and providing education and counseling to families. Overall, she aspires to advocate for children and families who are culturally diverse, multilingual, and/or are a part of a minoritized community. In her free time, Daniela enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going to the gym, reading/writing poetry, watching the sunset, and is always looking for new experiences.
